Grookeygreninja's winning team was built around layered offensive pressure with strong redirection and weather control. Blastoise carried Blastoisinite with Water Spout, Protect, Shell Smash, and Dark Pulse, giving the team a direct way to snowball if it found a safe turn. Delphox filled a similar special setup role with Delphoxite, Nasty Plot, Protect, Heat Wave, and Psychic, meaning opponents had to respect multiple boosted attackers rather than focusing on one endgame.
Clefable was the glue piece. Leftovers, Unaware, Follow Me, Moonblast, Protect, and Rain Dance gave Grookeygreninja both positional support and a way to adjust weather. Follow Me can help create turns for Shell Smash or Nasty Plot, while Rain Dance pairs naturally with Blastoise's Water Spout. On the other side, Ninetales brought Focus Sash, Drought, Heat Wave, Protect, Weather Ball, and Solar Beam, giving the team a sun mode that supported its Fire-type attacks and punished Water-weak targets. Sceptile added immediate speed with Choice Scarf and coverage through Leaf Storm, Dragon Pulse, Focus Blast, and Energy Ball, while Kangaskhan supplied Fake Out pressure and a Life Orb Last Resort route with Scrappy.
Across the top teams, several patterns stood out. Delphox was used by each of the top three players, all with Delphoxite and the same core of Heat Wave, Psychic, Nasty Plot, and Protect. Blastoise also had a major presence, appearing on the first, second, and fourth-place teams with Blastoisinite. Kangaskhan appeared on each of the top three teams, always with Scrappy and the Fake Out plus Last Resort pairing, though the item and nature varied between Life Orb, Silk Scarf, Jolly, Brave, and Adamant.
Redirection and defensive support were also prominent. Clefable appeared on three of the top four teams, each carrying Follow Me and Protect, with Leftovers or Sitrus Berry. TerryFerry's fourth-place team added a different kind of defensive utility through Toxapex with Wide Guard and Baneful Bunker, while SupernovaKush used Corviknight with Tailwind, Iron Defense, and Body Press. Life Orb showed up repeatedly as well, including Grookeygreninja's Kangaskhan, DG2fut's Hydreigon, SupernovaKush's Primarina, and TerryFerry's Dragapult.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Delphoxite, Blastoisinite, Fake Out plus Last Resort Kangaskhan, and Follow Me Clefable when building for Regulation Set M-B.
